Are you a confident, passionate trainer and social work practice educator?

BCP Children’s Services have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, registered Social Worker (SWE) and Practice Educator, to help support the training and development of staff within Children’s Services, including qualifying and post qualifying social work programmes

We have recently established a new Social Work Academy and training programme to help support the wider improvement to practice across all of Children’s Services.

The successful applicant will work as part of a small, creative Workforce Development Team, which is involved in the full range of qualifying, post qualifying and specialist training and CPD development of social care staff and their managers.

We have established a successful local regional partnership with Bournemouth University to deliver the Step Up to Social Work programme locally, and we provide excellent placement opportunities in the unit for social work students on local qualifying courses. We have also recently started to offer the Social Work Degree Apprenticeship and are also part of the Pan-Dorset and Wiltshire Social Work Teaching Partnership.

You should understand the needs of adult learners, have experience of supervising social work students or qualified staff and have a PQ Practice Educator qualification. Training and development of staff is highly valued in BCP Council and you will have the opportunity use your experience of practice to help identify, and be creative in, developing learning opportunities for all staff.

You should be passionate about embedding best practice standards and putting children and young people at the centre of everything we do. 

You will be offered high quality supervision and opportunities for your own CPD to develop your skills further and to meet Social Work England Standards.
