Sessional British Sign Language (BSL) and Lip Reading Tutors

Successful candidates will join a teaching and learning team of some 200 staff.  Most of the team are part-time and report to, and are supported by, a designate Assistant Curriculum Manager or Business & Outreach Officer. 

From Art to Yoga the Curriculum is responsive to local and national priorities. We're seeking British Sign Language (BSL) and Lip-Reading tutors to deliver a range of part-time non-accredited classes in North Dorset.

Learning opportunities are offered in over 35 venues across Dorset including seven learning centres: 

1. Boscombe 
2. Blandford 
3. Christchurch 
4. Dorchester 
5. Ferndown 
6. Poole (Dolphin Centre)) 
7. Weymouth 

We use MS Teams to deliver online and hybrid teaching as well as in day to day communications with staff. 

Tutors ensure Individual learner journeys are recorded using the six stages of Recognising And Recording Progress, Achievement and Progression (RARPAP) via Personal Development Plans (PDPs).  

Tutors are expected to adhere to the Professional Standards for Teachers and Trainers developed by the Education and Training Foundation.
