Beside the sea. Beyond expectations.

If you’re motivated by having the maximum impact on children’s lives, then look no further.

Children’s Services at BCP Council are on an improvement journey supported by a children’s transformation programme. The Council has an unwavering focus on driving up the positive outcomes for children and their families by placing children and young people at the heart of everything we do.

We are now looking for a Director of Permanence and Corporate Parenting and Permanence to play a key role in our improvement journey. As a qualified social worker and senior leader, you’ll have in depth knowledge of children’s social care and commissioning.

Reporting to the Corporate Director of Childrens Services, as part of your portfolio you will have Fostering, Children with Disabilities, Adoption (RAA shared with Dorset), Care Leavers, Children in Care, and the Corporate Parenting Board. You will also be responsible for the management and financial oversight of placements and work closely with our commissioning services. As an ambassador for Children’s Services, you’ll work across boundaries to break down silos and champion the voice of children and young people across the Council, partners, and wider region.

You’ll be innovative, resilient and have a track record of improving services, directing transformation and change as well as working across the partners leadership system. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a central role in shaping children’s services and to be part of a large, ambitious and recently formed unitary council, with an exciting transformation programme, who are committed to providing the very best support for our children and young people.
