Social Workers – Children and Families
(ASYE/Level 1/Level 2/Level 3)
BCP Council is a new and developing authority with strong aspirations to provide the very best services for the children and families we work with. Central to this vision is a commitment to developing and maintaining an effective and stable workforce. To this end we have introduced Signs of Safety as a practice model across Early Help and Social Care.
We are pleased with our progress. We are increasing the job satisfaction of our front-line workers and managers, as the way we work with families produces more positive outcomes.
For new entrants joining BCP, you will benefit from a tailored offer designed to accelerate your career progression, helping you to achieve your full potential and realise your career goals. All NQSW’s will have an allocated Practice Consultant to support them through the ASYE year, co-allocation of cases and regular development time.
Whether an experienced social worker or newly qualified, you will have access to a range of post-qualifying training and learning opportunities, many of which are delivered in partnership with our local university. For experienced staff joining us who want to develop their career as Practice Educators, you will have access to training and CPD support. In every team there are opportunities to teach and to support students, including those on our Step up To Social Work programme.
Our structure has been designed with consistency for children and families in mind. We have four service areas:
- First Response
- Children and Familes First
- Fostering and Development
As part of our commitment to career development we actively encourage opportunities to transfer between services to allow the development of new skills and perspectives in the work.
We have a graduated level of career progression for social workers and advancement is linked to increased salary reflective of the seniority and experience of the worker. We have a range of vacancies available at each of our three career progression levels across several different teams.
If you have strong social work values and are passionate about working with children, young people to keep them safe, and to support them and their families or carers to be the best they can be; then you are who we are looking for.
If you are interested to know more then please contact Annie Draper on the details below. Leave your details and which area of service you are interested in and we will get back to you.
