Maternity Cover for 1 Year

Do you want to work at one of the premier heritage sites in Dorset and one of the most popular wedding venues in Dorset?

Highcliffe Castle is owned and operated by BCP Council. It is a magnificent Grade 1 listed building located on the south coast. Annually the Castle team deliver 100+ ceremonies and receptions, each with their own individual style, which create beautiful memories for all involved, for years to come.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and operation of weddings at Highcliffe Castle, maintaining the highest of standards and achieving annual performance targets. You will be highly organised with a hands-on approach and an eye for detail.

You will have proven experience in the weddings and events industry. You will be confident with how the nature of a couple’s plans can change leading up to their big day, accommodating all necessary elements to ensure everyone has the best experience possible. Working with external suppliers is key to how the Castle offering works and you will need to liaise with multiple people, to deliver an exceptional wedding day for all our clients.

You will be part of the duty management team, through which you will learn about all aspects of the Castle operation, which will give you essential background to ensure an excellent experience for all our clients and their guests.

This is a 12-month maternity leave cover post consisting of 37 hours per week.  Flexibility is required to fit around the demands of the Castle and will involve frequent evening and weekend working.

As a result of the creation of BCP Council in 2019, we are working on simplifying our terms and conditions of service and will be creating a single pay structure which all of our employees will move on to. It is important to us that we offer benefits that our colleagues value as part of their total employment package and we are reviewing these to make sure we have it right. We’re hoping to implement these changes in 2022 and all colleagues joining us will be included in these changes.
