APPROVED ELECTRICIAN

Job Introduction

Bournemouth Building & Maintenance Ltd (BBML) are looking for experienced Approved Electricians. (Previous applicants need not apply if you applied to the same position within the last 12 months, unless you have acquired significant additional experience or qualifications)

BBML is a BCP Council owned trading company which provides building services solely to the council. BBML employs its own workforce under BBML terms and conditions. BBML provides professional maintenance and construction services within the local area, undertaking planned and responsive maintenance for BCP Council’s owned housing stock and corporate properties.

We are looking for Approved Electricians for our Electrical Service Team.  

Applicants could expect to work on domestic and corporate electrical maintenance, installation and testing as well as planned refurbishment and project work.

Applicants should hold either City and Guilds 2360 parts 1 and 2 or equivalent, which could be an EAL equivalent qualification. These qualifications should come supported by the relevant certification including NVQ level 3 Plus AM2 (All to be Fully Completed).

Along with the above, a City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing (or equivalent, which could again be an EAL equivalent qualification) 

Applicants must also hold the current 18th Edition Regulations qualification.

What we’re looking for:

A Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Have all own tools required to undertake electrical installation works and testing.  

Will need to be able to carry out electrical installations and maintenance in our housing stock as well as commercial and industrial environments.

Will need to be fully conversant with completing all types of electrical certification.

All electrical certification is carried out on an I-Pad via the NICEIC portal.

Will need to be able to undertake EICR's in Domestic, Commercial and Industrial Installations. Be fully conversant with BS. 7671 IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition.

It would be an advantage if you are able to install and maintain both Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting Systems and are conversant with BS 5266 and BS 5839.

An advantage to be knowledgeable about Installation and Maintenance of Intruder Alarm Systems.

Confidence in using IT equipment and mobile devices such as IPads. The I-Pads are used for many other applications, forms and inspection certification along with regular email and communication via Microsoft Teams.   Training provided.

All PPE and uniforms will be provided.

This position is subject to a Basic DBS check. Any unspent convictions must be declared and decision to employ will be subject to a risk assessment wherever necessary.

We work within the local area maintaining our housing stock and undertaking work on corporate buildings and construction projects for BCP Council.  We also undertake adaptations work for private households in the BCP area.
