Job Introduction
The pay range for this role will be £44,075 (if starting after 1 April 2026) - £49,282 p.a. (pro rata for part time colleagues)

Role Purpose

We have an excellent opportunity for a ambitious accountant to join our Finance Team.
Roles Purpose
- The main purpose of the roles is to support business partnering activities within children's services focusing on Education & Skills.
Main Responsibilities
- The roles reports to the Management Accountant for Education & Skills
- Liaise with senior officers and budget holders on budget setting, monitoring and reporting, developing financial models, analysing variances, and providing financial advice to support decision‑making.
- prepare statutory and service‑area financial reports and provide guidance on financial regulations and policy impacts.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate would be someone studying towards an accountancy qualification and looking for the next step in their career. Experience supporting business partnering and supporting complex organisations is important while a background in local government is desirable.
