Assistant Manager

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Assistant Manager to join our supportive and dedicated team.

April Court is a 17 bedroomed residential home that is dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities. It is situated in the Kinson area which is around 5 miles away from Bournemouth town centre.   The team at April Court are proactive in ensuring the residents are supported to maintain their individuality.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Registered/Deputy Managers to oversee the day-to-day running of the service.
  • Completing care plans, resident’s records and carrying out relevant risk assessments. 
  • Supporting residents to continuously develop opportunities to connect with the community outside of the home in a person-centred and outcome focused approach.
  • Supervision and management of staff. 
  • Working to required standards to comply with CQC guidelines.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Experience of working in a similar care setting.
  • Awareness and understanding of relevant Community Care and Safeguarding legislation and practice.  
  • A full and working knowledge of CQC fundamental standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • NVQ/QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care or Management or equivalent.
  • A current valid driving licence and be able to drive the services vehicles.
  • Good knowledge of IT and the ability to use the different systems as required.

Part-time - 6.25 hours per week
