We are seeking to appoint a confident and professional Class Teacher (SEND – Primary) to join the Nigel Bowes Academy.

About this role

Do you have aspirations to become a SENDCO? Would you like a role that, upon successful induction, provides the opportunity to undertake the formal SENDCO qualification, followed with full responsibility for SEND and a TLR 3 payment? If so, we look forward to hearing from you.

In this role you will work directly with our Vice Principal (SENDCO), whilst completing your induction period, supporting SEND at our school and receiving on-the-job training and support. On successful completion of the induction period you will commence formal SENDCO training and assume the role of SENDCO at our school.

To excel in this role you will have experience of working with pupils with additional needs, either in mainstream or special settings, and have knowledge in the areas of SEMH, ASD, Attachment and Trauma, SpLD and therapeutic approaches in supporting young people.

  • Strong potential for career progression.
  • A culture that respects work-life balance and an ongoing commitment to wellbeing with a dedicated Wellbeing Champion.
  • An Employee Assistance Programme including in the moment support and counselling sessions with an external provider.
  • AAT Staff benefits include free eye testing for DSE users through Specsavers, free will writing through Dunham McCarthy Solicitors and reduced price corporate gym membership through BH Live.
