Business Support Officer
Full Time 37 Hours
Role Purpose
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Support Officer to join our dynamic team within the Customer, Arts and Property/Business Support service. This role is vital in delivering efficient and effective administrative support across the organisation, helping teams maximise their delivery and contributing to the Council’s overarching goals. You will be instrumental in ensuring customers receive an excellent service.
Main Responsibilities
As a Business Support Officer, your key accountabilities will include:
- Responding to customer enquiries with professionalism and empathy, in line with Council policies.
- Maintaining and updating customer records using appropriate systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with GDPR.
- Achieving high standards of data input across spreadsheets and bespoke databases.
- Collecting, analysing and disseminating statistical data relevant to the service unit.
- Organising complex multi-agency meetings and accurately capturing decisions and key information.
- Upholding confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.
- Supporting service delivery through meticulous record-keeping and process adherence.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with a high level of accuracy in data handling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
- Proficiency in using IT systems and databases, including Microsoft Office applications.
- A sound understanding of GDPR and data protection principles.
- Experience in coordinating meetings and summarising outcomes effectively.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and service excellence.

As a result of the creation of BCP Council in 2019, we are working on simplifying our terms and conditions of service and will be creating a single pay structure which is to be applicable for all employees.
