About the Role
Are you passionate about improving education and life chances for young people? Do you thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment where no two days are the same?
We’re looking for a proactive and creative Business and Communications Officer to join our friendly and forward-thinking Education Improvement Team on a maternity cover basis. You’ll play a key role in supporting our work across 98 schools, an FE college, and three universities in the BCP area.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a wide range of impactful projects—from supporting school leaders and governors to delivering major events like the Careers and Apprenticeship Show and promoting supported internships for young people with SEND.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinating team planning and managing internal and external communications
- Supporting the delivery of high-profile events, conferences, and exhibitions
- Managing the diaries of our Head of Service’s across Education and Skills and supporting team logistics
- Acting as the first point of contact for our network of partners and stakeholders
- Creating and maintaining content across platforms including Skillgate, Edublog, mailchimp, and social media
- Helping shape how we communicate with children, young people, and professionals
What We’re Looking For
We’re after someone who is:
- A confident communicator with excellent organisational skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
- Creative, enthusiastic, and full of ideas
- Experienced in providing high-level administrative and PA support
- Passionate about education and improving outcomes for young people
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong ICT and digital communication skills, including website and newsletter tools
- Experience in event planning and stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of data protection, confidentiality, and corporate systems
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Familiarity with the education sector and working with schools or young people
Desirable Extras
- Experience using social media and digital platforms to build engagement
- Confidence in creating newsletters and online content
- Previous work with young people or in education settings
