Job Introduction
Role Purpose
Joining a small team, you will work in our Commercial Office(s) based at the Poole or Bournemouth Recycling Centres. You may be required to work at both sites on a rota basis.
Main Responsibilities
The main focus of the post is to provide a high level of customer service to both our residents and commercial customers, face to face, on the phone and in writing. The work is varied; and as part of a small but busy team you will be responsible for collating and handling data relating to waste management, including some financial management around billing, invoicing, taking payments and some selling of our commercial services.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be committed to high standards of accuracy as attention to detail is a must. Use of several databases is required; however full training will be given.
As part of the Strategic Development team, which manages Waste and Open Spaces, you’ll be committed to improving the environment for our residents and businesses. It would be an advantage to have experience or knowledge of waste disposal, but it is more important that you are an excellent communicator and a strong team player and will fully engage in working towards the Council’s purpose and values.
The Commercial Waste Officer will play an active role in a multi-skilled team and there will be plenty of opportunities to develop your own skills and contribute to the direction of the service.
For an informal discussion please contact Laura Neil (Commercial Waste Manager) on 01202 128073, Gareth Warr (Site Supervisor) on 01202 126202 or Ellen Adby (Site Supervisor) on 01202 126692.
