Job Introduction
We are looking for a part-time Cook to join our team at April Court.
April Court is a 17 bedroomed residential home that provides care and support for people with learning disabilities. It is situated in the Kinson area which is around 5 miles away from Bournemouth town centre.
In this role you will support residents to eat a healthy balanced diet through a person-centred approach including dietary requirements and assessed needs.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking meals.
- Ordering supplies and ensuring effective stock control.
- Ensuring the kitchen area is maintained to a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Ensuring all kitchen equipment used is kept in efficient working order.
- Working to required standards that comply with Health and Safety requirements (COSHH).
The successful candidate should have:
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Excellent food hygiene and catering provision knowledge.
- A recognised catering qualification NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of basic kitchen management.
- Effective communication skills.
Part-time - 20 hours per week
6 month fixed term contract
