An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Support Worker to join our experienced team at
Hillbourne Primary School, part of Hamwic Education Trust (HET).
We are looking to appoint a dedicated, caring Family Support Worker to support the children and families
at Hillbourne Primary School.
HET is a large, fast-paced Trust with currently 35 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 community-based partnerships, there are 32 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school.

JOB/PERSON SUMMARY:
The role will involve:
• Providing support, encouragement and pastoral care to pupils at the school
• Work with a range of stakeholders, parents, support staff, outreach agencies and other schools to
ensure continuity and progress of individual pupils, especially in regard to self esteem.
• Work with small groups on identified issues such as self esteem, friendship issues and behavioural
issues.
• Develop and facilitate parenting programmes
• Promote a home/school liaison service by being available for parents on both a drop-in and
appointment basis.
• Work with families with poor school attendance
• Develop the school’s links to members of the community with regard to helping the school
