About the Role
Could you help change a child’s future?
There are over 600 children in care in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. BCP Council is looking for compassionate, resilient people to become foster carers, providing safe, stable and nurturing homes for children and young people who are unable to live with their families.
Fostering is more than a role, it’s a chance to be the difference. Every day, you will help a child feel safe, valued and able to thrive.
What you’ll be doing
• Providing a safe, caring and stable home environment
• Supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, education and development
• Helping children maintain important relationships with family and friends
• Working alongside social workers and other professionals
• Supporting day-to-day parenting activities such as school runs and appointments
• Encouraging confidence, independence and positive life experiences
About you
We’re looking for people who:
• Have a genuine commitment to supporting children and young people
• Are patient, resilient and able to build trusting relationships
• Have time, flexibility and a willingness to learn
• Have a spare bedroom in their home
We welcome applications from people from all walks of life, there is no ‘typical’ foster carer.
