Job Introduction
The pay range for this role will be £38,220– £46,142 (pro rata for part time colleagues)

We are seeking to appoint a Health Programme Advisor within the Public Health and Communities team as a central part of this mission. We’re searching for a dynamic Public Health team member that can help to deliver an aspirational public health function alongside our ambitions for empowering communities.
The Public Health function has a clear focus on the communities that are at the heart of the BCP area and how we can build capability and independence, tackle health inequalities, improve health outcomes for our residents, and create healthy environments through having a community centred approach to health and wellbeing.
This is a fantastic opportunity to influence across the council and the place and to work collaboratively with communities and partners to make a real difference to residents. You’ll be pivotal in supporting the commissioning, contract management and improvement of the public health and community services across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, enhancing residents' health and well-being, mitigating health inequalities, and safeguarding local communities.
This post will work alongside 6 other Health Programme Advisors and be part of a team with support from Consultants in Public Health, Heads of Programme, Senior Health Programme Advisors, analysts and business support. Matrix working across the team, provides opportunities for this role to work across a range of public health portfolios, including health improvement programmes across the life course, from children and young to older adults, and will be dependent on knowledge, skills and interests of the right candidate and fit within existing team members roles and responsibilities.
Pre-existing knowledge / training in Public Health is preferred, but not essential.
This role offers development potential; our HPA team have the opportunity to develop and grow their public health skills by undertaking Public Health Masterclasses, completing Public Health Practitioner registration or undertaking an MSc in Public Health.
The BCP Public Health & Communities team works from the Civic Centre in Bournemouth. We support agile and hybrid working using online technology. We also support flexible working where possible. There will be a need to work in the BCP area to build relationships with the team and partners, and to attend face to face meetings at least once a week.
