Job Introduction
BCP Council have a vacancy for a Highway Inspector to join our Highways Team.
The role will involve the undertaking of cyclic inspections of the public highway and the actioning of enquiries, supporting the Highway Inspection Team Manager.
You will have an exceptional knowledge of the responsibilities of a local authority in the maintenance of the public highway, with experience in using data capturing software used to undertake inspections.
You will be customer focused and have proven experience of being able to manage your own workload, able to support wider council teams with their services and an organised approach to work planning and prioritisation.
You will need to be a clear and confident communicator; this role will involve a significant amount of time supporting our residents with their concerns. Experience of supporting customer enquiries and managing expectations from members of the public is key to the role.
You will be required to maintain records and have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite of programmes.

The role will involve both walked and driven inspections on the public highway, undertaking the works during all weathers.
