Human Aspects Co-ordinator - 1 year Fixed term contract

Job Introduction

Role Purpose

We have an exciting one-off opportunity within the BCP Council Emergency Planning and Resilience Team for a one-year fixed term Human Aspects Co-ordinator.  The postholder will be employed by BCP Council but work on behalf of the Dorset Local Resilience Forum to ensure that the Dorset LRF multi-agency partners have an effective human aspects response in place to support those affected by an emergency.

The Dorset Local Resilience Forum works in partnership to ensure there are plans in place for any emergency across Dorset that could impact on residents, communities and businesses or on the delivery of public services.


Main Responsibilities


To act as the co-ordinator and lead planner on behalf of Dorset LRF to oversee the development of the Dorset LRF multi-agency human aspects and humanitarian assistance capability.  

To act as a subject matter expert on the human aspects of emergency planning and response to Dorset LRF.

This role will involve working with a wide range of partner agencies from across the Dorset LRF, regionally and nationally.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a proactive, motivated professional with a proven track record within the sphere of humanitarian assistance in an emergency planning context to drive forward this important area of work.  

You should be an experienced resilience professional with demonstrable knowledge and experience of human aspects planning within emergency planning and response. 

You should have excellent communication and IT skills and be able to engage with individuals and groups across all levels of a  wide range of partners.
