Laundry Assistant

Job Introduction

We are looking for a Laundry Assistant to join our team at Avon View.

Avon View, located just outside Christchurch, is a residential home that provides nursing, palliative, residential, and dementia care across three floors, supporting individuals with complex needs in a person-centred way.

As a Laundry Assistant you will provide an efficient laundry service, maintaining high standards and contributing to safeguarding the welfare of clients.

What you’ll do

  • Effective prioritising and planning of laundry loads.
  • Clean all laundry including washing, drying and ironing as required.
  • Operate equipment, including washing machines, tumble driers and a commercial iron.
  • Maintain the laundry equipment in a clean and safe working order, reporting any faults.
  • Keeping accurate records of items, including checking any items for damage or stains.
  • Provide cover, on occasion, to Housekeepers to ensure smooth running of the service.
  • The ability to work flexibly including alternate weekends and bank holidays.

 

What you need

  • The ability to use a range of laundry equipment.
  • Good written English skills to complete records.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Health and Hygiene practices, Health and Safety at Work and COSHH regulations.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

36 hours per week
