Job Introduction
This is a rare opportunity to join a professional and well-respected central team within a positive and supportive Multi Academy Trust.
Coastal Learning Partnership (CLP) is a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) whose scope spans two Local Authority regions: Dorset and Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Councils. CLP is a vibrant family of twenty schools and a central team working together around shared values and aspirations, in the spirit of close partnership. Schools within CLP are enabled to grow and improve together whilst encouraged to nurture their own distinctive characters to best serve their immediate communities. This is an exciting time to join CLP: the partnership is four years old – thriving, expanding and succeeding.
CLP is seeking to appoint to the new post of Lead Practitioner for Behaviour, Attendance and Safeguarding to join its central school improvement team. This is a rare opportunity to join a professional, effective and highly regarded improvement team and to make a positive impact on the quality of provision right across our family of schools.
If you have a deep commitment to inclusive education and a clear vision for a highly effective behavioural culture, then CLP invites your application.
We are looking for an individual with:
- A clear vision of what a highly effective culture for behaviour, attendance and safeguarding looks like and how to achieve it within and between schools;
- An unwavering passion to deliver the best possible educational experience and outcomes for every child;
- Skills and expertise to support, guide and advise colleagues with confidence and empathy, working in strong partnership;
- Ability to inspire and empower others, building capacity and expertise, and also to offer professional challenge;
- A strong track record of school improvement, especially in relation to establishing a positive and purposeful behaviour culture;
- Ability to work effectively with a full range of external partners and agencies in achieving the best for every child;
- A desire to champion the specific needs and entitlements of all vulnerable learners.
In return, we can offer:
- A hugely varied and rewarding role, developing effective practice across multiple schools;
- Highly effective and supportive colleagues, both within the central team and based in our schools;
- Commitment to your continued professional development;
- A ‘hybrid’ working model with colleagues benefiting from a working pattern that includes on site and remote/homebased working;
- Opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from other trusts;
- A competitive salary;
- A range of employee discount schemes, including cycle and tech schemes;
- Access to staff wellbeing resources including a free, telephone counselling service
*This post is offered on a part time basis for around three / four days per week; actual working pattern will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
To comply with our statutory safer recruitment practices and obligations, we are unable to shortlist incomplete applications. Please ensure you include a full employment and education history, details of two referees and explain any gaps in employment. CVs will not be accepted.
Coastal Learning Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate that they meet the essential elements of the person specification and will be subject to pre-employment checks including a health check, an Enhanced DBS check, Child Barred List check and satisfactory references. We will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern. Applicants are advised that it is an offense to apply for the role if they are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
