Learning Support Assistant 

Student Support – Inclusion 

Start date: January 2024

Hours: 35 per week - ideally 8.30am – 4pm (some flexibility available)   

Starting Salary: Full Time Equivalent £23,400 / Pro rata Actual salary £18,761

Contract type: Permanent 

Term time only, 38 school weeks plus training days


We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join the team, to:

-    Develop students’ ability to access learning by use of interventions and skills as guided by SENDCo and / or expert professionals  

-    Work with either individuals or groups of students to ensure their safety and facilitating their physical, emotional and educational development

-    Support and monitor the progress of individuals/groups of students in the classroom

-    Promote independent learning

-    Establish a supporting and positive relationship with students and parents/carers


About you, an ideal candidate will:

-    Have experience of working with students with SEN

-    Be confident in the use of Information Technology

-    Be flexible and willing to learn

-    Have a commitment to your own CPD


You will be working proactively to improve the progress of our students with classroom support and interventions in order to ensure students of all abilities can access a high standard of learning and achieve their best possible outcomes.     

Previous experience in a school is desirable.
