We are proud of the progress we have made and the high-quality services we provide, including achieving a C1 Consumer grading from the Regulator of Social Housing. As we continue to build on this success and maintain excellent services for our residents, we are investing in our future and recruiting talented people to join our teams.

Our focus on resident safety, service quality, accountability and engagement gives employees the confidence that they are working for an organisation that is recognised for doing the right things, in the right way.

Role Purpose

At BCP Homes, we're committed to providing safe, sustainable homes and excellent services to our residents. As a Lettings Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring that council homes are allocated quickly and fairly to those in housing need.

You will manage the end-to-end lettings process, working closely with applicants, residents, internal teams and partner organisations to minimise void periods and help people move into suitable accommodation as quickly as possible. A critical part of this role is driving improvements in re-let performance, ensuring properties are brought back into use promptly and lettings are progressed efficiently to reduce the time homes remain empty.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional who understands the importance of balancing customer service, compliance and performance targets within a busy lettings environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the  letting of empty council properties, ensuring homes are occupied as quickly as possible.
  • Take ownership of properties through the lettings process, proactively progressing cases to minimise void periods and improve re-let times.
  • Arrange and conduct viewings with prospective tenants, providing advice and information throughout the lettings process.
  • Process nominations, applications and tenancy paperwork accurately and in line with housing policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to remove barriers to lettings and ensure properties are ready to be occupied at the earliest opportunity.
  • Monitor caseloads and performance targets, taking timely action to keep cases moving and achieve service objectives.
  • Support tenancy sustainment through effective tenancy management, advice and sign-up processes.
  • Provide advice to customers on housing management matters, including lettings, tenancy conditions and related housing services.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure housing management systems are updated appropriately.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for an experienced and motivated housing professional who understands the importance of efficient lettings services in reducing void loss and maximising the availability of homes for those in need.

You will have:

  • Experience working within a social housing, lettings, allocations or housing management environment.
  • A strong understanding of end-to-end lettings processes and the factors that influence void turnaround performance.
  • A proven ability to manage competing priorities, progress cases proactively and work to demanding performance targets.
  • Experience of delivering results in a fast-paced environment where timeliness, accuracy and customer service are equally important.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, policy and good practice.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience of housing management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

We're particularly keen to hear from candidates who have a track record of improving lettings performance, reducing void turnaround times and maintaining excellent customer service while managing a busy caseload.

Please note, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship and we can only consider applicants with existing right to work in the UK.
