Library Assistants - 6 posts - part-time hours

Job Introduction

Role Purpose

 

Looking to make a difference? We are looking for people to join our existing library teams, delivering important services to local communities.

We have 5 part-time Library Assistant posts with varied hours and one full-time temporary maternity leave cover based at various libraries.

Kinson: 12.875 hours

West Howe: 18.25 and 13.5 hours

Westbourne: 24.25 hours

Winton: 15 hours

Christchurch: 37 hours


Main Responsibilities


Work as part of a team to assist in the effective and efficient operation of the library.

Provide excellent customer service, ensuring all customer enquiries are resolved at first point of contact, signposted or referred as appropriate.

Aid the public in the use of IT and other library services.

Promote the library as a community venue, developing and delivering events and activities for children, young people and adults.


The Ideal Candidate


You should have experience of working in a busy customer service environment and the ability to engage positively with customers of all ages.  You will be able to work effectively in a team and unsupervised, and have a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.  The role includes working Saturdays and evenings until 6.15pm.
