Local Land Charges Assistant - 12 Month FTC

Starting salary for this role is 30,518  (pro rata for part-time colleagues)

Internal colleagues are also normally appointed at the bottom of the band, unless moving within the same profession and skill level, where the pay band is the same they can be appointed to the existing pay point.

We are looking for a motivated and capable person to assist in our Local Land Charges Team currently based at the BCP Civic Centre – Bournemouth – with the option to work remotely. The team predominantly work remotely from home, communicating and collaborating effectively using Microsoft teams. The job will involve assisting in the preparation, inputting, checking and dispatch of Local Authority searches, along with handling payments and liaising with clients and other departments on queries as required. Also, as part of the role, you may be required to support the Elections team during times of increased workload.


Applicants must have strong IT skills, with the ability to use Microsoft 365 daily. Training will be provided for bespoke Local Land Charges systems, including MasterGov and various mapping systems.

You will need a keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy, along with excellent oral and written communication skills. The role involves dealing with solicitors and members of the public, primarily via telephone and email, in a friendly and efficient manner.

You should be able to work to deadlines, manage a varied workload effectively, and use your own initiative to prioritise and organise your tasks. You should also be a fast learner, able to complete tasks accurately and within required timescales.

This position is initially offered as maternity cover, with the potential for further employment opportunities within Local Land Charges in the future.
