We are looking for a skilled and motivated MI Analyst to join Children’s Services at BCP Council on a 3 months fixed-term part-time basis (22.2hrs/3 days). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality performance information, statutory returns and data insight that support effective decision-making and improved outcomes for children and families across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

About the role

As MI Analyst, you will provide essential analytical support across Children’s Services, helping to ensure the timely delivery of key statutory and performance reporting. You will work with colleagues across the service to extract, validate, analyse and present data from case management systems, with a particular focus on accuracy, insight and practical use.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead analytical responsibility for the CIN Census 2025/26
  • Support the production of key reports, including quarterly performance reporting, corporate parenting reporting and safeguarding partnership reporting.
  • Extract, interpret and present data clearly to support managers and senior leaders with service oversight and decision-making.
  • Work with data held in Children’s Services systems, including Mosaic, to identify issues, improve reliability and strengthen reporting processes.
  • Work collaboratively with operational colleagues and systems support to improve data quality and accuracy.
  • Contribute to performance intelligence and, for the right candidate, support the development of operational Power BI reporting.

Key responsibilities

You will have experience of working with complex data, producing clear analysis and turning information into meaningful insight. You should be confident using data systems and reporting tools, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure. We are looking for someone who can build positive working relationships, communicate technical information clearly and take a proactive approach to solving problems. Experience of performance reporting within Children’s Services, and knowledge of Children’s Social Care data or statutory returns, is essential.

This role is part time, 3 days a week.
