As part of the Delta Education Trust, Delta Bespoke manages and runs a series of Adventure Learning Outdoor Education Centres for young people who struggle in mainstream education settings. Your role within Delta Bespoke’s Adventure Learning team will be to educate classes from a variety of special and alternative provision schools in the Dorset area.  

These schools cater for a variety of students that are hard to place or out of education from mainstream settings. We endeavour to help our learners to feel they matter and belong, enabling them to improve their social, emotional and academic skills to be the best that they can be.  

Our Adventure Learning centre provides an outdoor education curriculum for a wide age range. Based in Poole, Dorset, the centre’s location provides us with a wide range of excellent nearby locations for climbing, coasteering, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, mountain biking and more.

With that in mind, we support our staff in achieving relevant outdoor qualifications needed for the role.  We are looking for someone who currently holds multiple relevant NGB’s (BCU Level 2, RCI, ML, British Cycling MTB Leader, NCC Guide etc). Teaching/youth work qualifications would be desirable and experience working with students of this nature.  

The role will involve planning and developing ‘out-of-the-classroom’ learning opportunities, using a wide range of outdoor activities for all students.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the engagement and ongoing progress of their students. They should also have a particular interest in teaching students with special educational needs, including those with behavioural, emotional and social issues. 

The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and flexible individual who can form positive relationships with students with a wide range of special needs in order to make a positive difference. Resilience and a sense of humour is a must.
