Performance Analyst - 12 month Fixed term contract

From 1 December 2025, our refreshed Pay and Reward package comes into effect, bringing a new approach to how we recognise and reward roles across the Council. This means the salary for this role will be changing. The pay range for this role will be £38,220 to £46,142 p.a. (pro rata for part time colleagues) from 1 December 2025.

We have an exciting opportunity in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council Children’s Services for a full-time Performance Analyst reporting to the Children’s Social Care Performance Manager.

This is a fixed term offer for an experienced analyst within the Children’s Social Care Performance & Intelligence team with a particular focus on Adoption and Fostering. You will support the team by developing performance frameworks for these two areas which will be visualised in operational Power Bi reports as well as strategic scorecards. 

You will collaborate with key stakeholders across the council including colleagues in the wider Performance & Intelligence team, with the Fostering and Aspire Adoption services, the Data and Analytics Service and the Mosaic Development to lead on the data development for accurate and automated data analysis as needed. 

Particular tasks include:

  • Develop a detailed performance framework for Adoption and Fostering considering operational needs, strategic objectives and statutory obligations including targets and benchmarks. 
  • Lead on automation of this framework, including working with services and colleagues in IT to support system changes where required. 
  • Support transition from manual recording on spreadsheets to recording on our case management system (Mosaic) for better oversight and reporting. 
  • Develop reporting source objects in our data warehouse. 
  • Develop strategic scorecard to inform strategic boards
  •  Simplify and automate statutory return processes. 
  • Build operational trackers to support front line workers as well as identifying more efficient ways to share the data reliably and self-serve basis (Power Bi).
  • Work proactively and in collaborations with the business as well as system support to ensure maximum data accuracy in source data. 
  • Support Performance Manager and Head of Service with data requirements. Knowing where to get relevant data and how to extract it.

 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is confident working using their own initiative as well as a part of a team. You will have excellent IT and Microsoft Office skills including knowledge of SQL and experience developing reports using Power BI. You can analyse complex data and visualise this in accessible reports.  You will enjoy working at a fast pace, love change and work well under pressure. 

The post is a fixed term contract for 12 months. Working hours are 37 hours per week.
