Role Purpose

BCP Council is seeking talented and dedicated Project Managers to join our dynamic team. We have three exciting opportunities available across different services, each offering a unique challenge and the chance to make a significant, positive impact to the communities we serve.

 

Children's Services - Early Years Wraparound Project Manager (1 x 24-month fixed term position) 

We are looking for a Project Manager that has specialist experience in to leading Early Years work packages across Children's Services. The ideal candidate will understand the National Wraparound Childcare Expansion Programme and will be able to demonstrate experience of collaborating with Local Authorities, Schools and Nursery's. The candidate will also need to have a passion for improving the lives of children and families and a track record of delivering projects on time, on budget, and to quality standards. Housing Service Project Manager (one 12-month fixed term position)

 As this project role will specifically be focused on supporting and co-ordinating the development of services to council housing tenants and leaseholders within our Housing and Communities directorate, previous relevant experience of these areas would be beneficial. The postholder will work across a range of teams that deliver these services and directly manage projects within this area. You will be expected to coordinate project demands and manage expectations across a wide range of stakeholders, being able to really drive project delivery is imperative. Commercial Operations Project Manager (maternity cover 12 months) 

BCP Council is offering a 12-month maternity cover for a Project Manager to support an established portfolio of seafront design and construction projects. This position is ideal for someone with experience in CDM, or similar, and a desire to contribute to the ongoing development of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole’s seafront. About the roles (key responsibilities for all positions) 

Working within the Council’s Programme & Project Management function you’ll be part of a team who support a host of projects across the Council. You’ll be responsible for the planning and execution of project delivery through the project lifecycle. You’ll use your experience, skills and BCP Council’s project framework to deliver on time, and within budget. Typically, duties will include: 

  • Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholder 
  • Identifying and managing project resources, assign tasks and manage the project team to ensure optimal performance and successful outputs.  
  • Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and provide regular updates to stakeholders, identifying and mitigating risks and issues as they arise. 


About you  

You will have project management knowledge and experience, preferably with a certification such as Prince 2, APM, or Agile (or equivalent, recognised practice). You will need strong communication and influencing skills, and be able to motivate, inspire, and influence positively and collaboratively. Additionally, you’ll be a great problem-solver with sound decision-making skills. Your ability to analyse, evaluate, and resolve project issues and risks is going to be critical.
