Revenues and Benefits Officer (Apprentice)

Job Introduction

We are recruiting enthusiastic Business Administration apprentices into the Revenues and Benefits service. The apprentices will be based within the Performance and Resilience team and will be supporting other teams within the Revenues and Benefits / Finance section. 

Role Purpose 

The team provides administrative and data inputting support to other teams within the service, ensuring all data is dealt with in accordance with the General Data Protections Regulations and relevant data handling procedures. 

Main Responsibilities

Examples of duties may include: 

  • Processing of Council Tax accounts
  • Processing of Corporate Income accounts
  • Mailbox management
  • Procurement functions
  • Supporting system conversions
  • Supporting development of the performance management framework
  • Supporting other areas within the Finance sections where required. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Are you self-motivated and enthusiastic?
  • Do you have good communication, interpersonal and literacy skills?
  • Are you committed to complete an apprenticeship programme?
  • Do you have experience of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel?
  • Are you organised and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines? 
  • Do you enjoy problem solving and have an eye for detail?

What training will the apprentices undertake? 

The apprentices will undertake the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship. 

To undertake the apprenticeship, whilst it is preferred that apprentices have a Level 2  in Maths and English (GCSE grade A-C / 4 or above) it is not essential. Training and support will be provided for you to obtain the Level 2 qualification.

We will support you to complete your apprenticeship training. A minimum of 20% of your working week will be allocated to your studies. You will develop your knowledge and understanding through your role as a Revenues and Benefits officer. . 

The team are based at Northmead House, Creekmoor, BH17 7RP.  Once trained, the apprentices will be able to work agilely from home and across a number BCP Council sites.
