Road Safety Training Co-ordinator (29.5 hours per week - Term-time only)

Job Introduction


This is an exciting opportunity to join the Road Safety Team in the Transport & Engineering Service at BCP Council with 1 No. additional Child Road Safety Scheme Co-Ordinator, required to enhance the team and provide Schools and groups with high quality pedestrian safety training skills at the roadside, within the classroom and at public events, to help reduce casualties and keep BCP Council’s young road users safe.  

The post holder will work full-time during school terms but will not work during school holidays.

Your contribution to the local road safety partnership is to ensure best practice and training is delivered in a way which has the maximum impact.

The role requires you to work with schools, community groups and the general public, also to coach others to assist in the delivery of child pedestrian safety skills and general road safety advice. You may be required to occasionally assist at events in the evenings, weekends or during school holidays, such as the Bournemouth Air Festival.

Specific Qualifications and Experience

  • 3 A levels, NVQ 4, HND or diploma (or equivalent experience)                              (Essential)
  • Flexible approach to case work, understanding different customer needs             (Essential)

Personal Qualities & Attributes

  • Ability to present to both children and adults in a primary school setting.
  • Use effective interpersonal skills to develop solutions to a range of problems.


Entry level for the post will depend on qualifications and experience as outlined in the Job Description for the post.  


Actual pro-rata annual salary will start at £20,524, based on 29.5 hours per week, term time only.
