Job Introduction
SEND Allocations Officer Temporary Maternity Cover (full time, 37 hours per week)
We are looking to recruit a SEND Allocations Officer to join our SEND Service as maternity cover. This is an exciting and busy role which will require the successful candidate to work in partnership with colleagues across relevant Council departments, education settings and with key stakeholders to improve the quality and management of financial data recorded in the SEND service. The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Maintain and deliver training to internal partners in the Synergy Finance System
- Analysing SEND data and reporting to Senior Managers to enable accurate monitoring of the high needs funding
- Ensuring statutory returns are met and that the Access to Resources Team and are provided with the necessary information required to make payments to providers and resolve school schedule queries
- Liaising with ART and SEND Case Officer to ensure all payments for SEND Personal Budgets are processed according to policy and process
- Liaising with schools, other education settings and internal teams to ensure the LA maintains accurate information on funding
- Ensuring the accuracy of SEND funding requests and working with Education, Health and Care Co-Ordinators to address any errors.
- Identify and rectify funding queries to enable senior managers and finance to monitor and forecast spend of the high needs budget accurately.
The team has a base at BCP Civic Centre in Bournemouth, but staff can divide their time between working from home and in the office. You will be expected to visit and link closely with schools and education providers as required.
