Queen’s Park Infant Academy is a caring and happy school for children aged 4 to 7 years. We believe that the first years at school are vital for laying down positive attitudes towards life-long learning. Working together with parents/carers, we are committed to providing a high quality education for all our children. The school is part of Coastal Learning Partnership Multi Academy Trust; a vibrant, collaborative Partnership of twenty schools working together around shared goals, values and aspirations.

We have a unique opportunity to recruit an outstanding SEN teacher with a passion for SEND as well as developing and inspiring a life-long love of learning in children to continue their careers with our dedicated, friendly and highly motivated team.

The successful candidate will work within one of two bespoke provisions within the mainstream school. Each provision provides education to 8 infant-aged pupils with complex needs including Autism, communication and language needs and global developmental delay. The provisions are very much part of the mainstream school and, where appropriate, children will join the main school for learning and activities. The successful teacher will be supported in their daily practice by a HLTA and a Teaching Assistant

It is incredibly important at Queen’s Park Infant Academy that all staff feel valued, listened to, mentored, challenged, and given adequate opportunities to develop. As part of Coastal Learning Partnership, there will be opportunities for professional development to staff in all roles.

Please apply if you have:

Experience working with EYFS and/or KS1 school aged children with complex SEN needs (including Autism, global delay, and communication language difficulties) within mainstream, a resource base or a special school

High levels of energy, vision, positivity, motivation, and resilience as well as being an empathetic, highly attuned approachable character.

Able to inspire, motivate and support children and staff and achieve outstanding outcomes.

Experience working collaboratively as part of a team and liaising with parents/carers and other professionals

The ability to adapt and use your initiative to enable the pupils you are working with to thrive

A commitment and passion to supporting pupils with SEND to thrive within a provision to achieve their full potential

The ability to see every child as unique and build positive relationships

A strong understanding of children’s emotional presentation and how to meet their emotional needs

Aspirations to achieve excellence in all you do

Commitment to continued professional development and are willing to make a positive contribution to our whole school

This post is not suitable for ECTs.

In return for your commitment, we can offer an environment in which you are encouraged to learn and progress, whether this be through professional qualifications or an ongoing programme of CPD. Our group of very different schools provides a range of opportunities for secondment and progression for staff throughout the academic year.

Please note that the school office shall be closed over the summer holidays and emails shall not be routinely monitored. We shall contact all candidates on 2nd September. Thank you for your understanding.

Coastal Learning Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate that they meet the essential elements of the person specification and will be subject to pre-employment checks including a health check, and Enhanced DBS check, Child Barred List check and satisfactory references. We will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern. Applicants are advised that it is an offense to apply for the role if they are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

CLP is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All applicants who meet the person specification will receive equal consideration for employment.  We value the fact that our schools are very different, as are our colleagues within them.  Our culture is one in which colleagues serve and inspire each other in the spirit of professional generosity; colleagues are empowered to be themselves and to be their best.  At CLP, everyone is welcome and encouraged to achieve and be heard.
