Seafront KidZone Assistant - Casual roles

Job Introduction

The pay for this role will be £13.45 per hour plus holiday pay per hour worked.

We’re looking forward to welcoming new colleagues under this refreshed framework of pay, terms, and conditions. To promote fairness and consistency, all new starters will begin at the bottom of the pay band. This reflects our commitment to equity across the organisation and aligns with the approach taken with existing staff during the transition. While the starting salary is fixed, the role offers excellent scope for growth, meaningful contribution, and being part of a forward-thinking team.

You can also find out more about the new terms and conditions that we are introducing on our careers site on, 'More than just a job' brochure

If you’re passionate about protecting our local environment, supporting the community, and helping the people who enjoy our award‑winning coastline, an exciting opportunity is waiting for you with BCP Council Seafront Operations. We are now recruiting KidZone Assistants to work across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Seafront during July and August 2026.

As a KidZone Assistant, you’ll play a key role in keeping families safe on our beaches. You’ll work both independently and as part of a wider team, using your initiative to engage with the public, promote our missing‑persons scheme and help coordinate searches to reunite lost children and vulnerable people with their families.

You’ll work closely with members of the public, colleagues across Seafront Operations and partner agencies such as the RNLI. Enthusiasm, confidence and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean and inclusive seafront are essential.

Because no two days on the seafront are ever the same, you’ll need to be flexible, proactive and ready to support a wide range of operational needs as they arise. Strong communication skills and a friendly, customer‑focused approach are vital - you’ll be an important part of ensuring Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole remain fantastic places to live, work and visit.

KidZone Assistants work shifts across 7 days a week, including weekends and Bank Holidays, and must be comfortable working outdoors for most of each shift. Successful candidates will be required to complete a basic DBS check, processed by BCP Council.

Please note, we are not able to offer sponsorship for this role. We can only consider applicants with existing right to work in the UK.
