Seafront Land Train Guard

Role Purpose

You will be required to assist in operating the seafront’s Land Train by working alongside the driver to provide and promote the service. This is a challenging but rewarding role suited to candidates with an affinity for customer service. Applicants must be available to start their new role on the 25th of March.

Main Responsibilities

You will need to be able to work as part of a team and independently as required using your own initiative. You will work proactively with all members of the public and the wider team. Enthusiasm and commitment to providing a safe, clean, and inclusive seafront is essential. To support this the position involves assisting the driver to ensure passenger safety as well as providing tourist information, collecting payments, maximising income and enhancing visitor experience. The seafront’s Land Train Service will operate across Bournemouth Seafront and Hengistbury Head nature reserve between March and October. The dynamic nature of the role means a flexible approach is crucial. This includes providing cover as necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

A disposition to promote high standards of customer care and communication skills is essential for this post. You will be an integral member of the Seafront Operations Team ensuring Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is a great place to live, work and visit.

Successful applicants will work in shifts covering up to 5 days in 7, including some Bank Holidays and weekends on an approximate 37 hours per week basis. The applicant will also be expected to work outdoors for most of each shift in order to carry out their duties.
