Seafront Specialist Vehicle Operator (Tractor Driver)

Role Purpose

You will be required to operate specialist machinery, mainly the seafront’s tractors, to deliver a high-quality cleansing function, whilst providing the highest level of customer service to all members of the public and support to the wider Seafront Operations Team. This is a challenging but rewarding role only available to candidates who hold a full, valid driving license with category CE and a valid CPC card. Previous experience of operating tractors and/or plant machinery is essential. Additional training and a fully funded City & Guilds for Competence in Tractor Driving will be provided.

Main Responsibilities

You will need to be able to work as part of a team and independently as required using your own initiative. Enthusiasm and commitment to providing a safe, clean and inclusive seafront is essential. To support this, the position involves carrying out systematic works, with the use of tractors and other specialist equipment to maintain the cleanliness of the seafront, beaches and promenades, in addition to sand management. The dynamic nature of the role means a flexible approach is crucial. This includes providing cover as necessary. Please refer to the attached Job Description and Role Profile for further details.

If you are passionate about the local environment and the community benefits it provides, then an exciting opportunity exists for you with BCP Council Seafront Operations.  We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced people to join our Seafront Team. A disposition to promote high standards of customer care and communication skills is essential for this post. You will be an integral member of the Seafront Operations Team ensuring Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is a great place to live, work and visit.

The successful applicant will work in shifts covering up to 5 days in 7, including early mornings, some Bank Holidays and weekends on a 37 hours per week basis. The applicant will also be expected to work outdoors for the majority of each shift in order to carry out their duties.

This is a permanent, full-time position open for application. Holding a fully valid, UK driver’s license with category CE and a valid CPC card is essential. Applications that do not meet this essential criterion will not be considered. We may request proof of the necessary license and CPC card prior to offering interviews.
