Seafront Visitor Services Manager

Job Introduction

Our Seafront Service is responsible for the management and development of our beautiful world-renowned coastline and we are looking for an enthusiastic, effective and committed lead officer to join our senior management team. 

Working directly with the Head of Seafront Services, you would be responsible for overseeing all related visitors and customer service functions, facilities and services.  Whilst not an exhaustive list, the focus of this role will be related to the management and development of:  

  • Beach Huts Service
  • Bournemouth Beach Lodges & Steamer Point Lodge
  • Tourist Information Service
  • Visitor enquiries / complaints / compliments
  • Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf
  • Branksome Dene Community Room
  • Mudeford Quay Dinghy Park 
  • Christchurch Harbour Moorings

This is a unique opportunity requiring a special individual who enjoys working in a mutually supportive and collaborative team environment but also can work well on their own initiative. 

The role includes direct line management responsibilities for the Beach Huts Team, Beach Lodges Manager, Resort Information Manager, Visitor Services Officer, and other staff as required.  

Ideally you will have:

  • a degree in a relevant subject or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and experience in the management of a complex service within a large organisation   
  • extensive experience in managing a large-scale hospitality / seasonal visitor attractions or similar environments, leading large teams of staff and handling customer communications and complaints  
  • experience of managing Health and Safety, projects, procurement exercises and budgets and working in partnership with external organisations across public, private and voluntary sectors
