Self‑Employed Personal Assistant / Support Worker (Female) HRDA
Location: BH8 area
Hours: 7 hours per week, hours to be mutually agreed.
Rate: Please provide your self‑employed hourly rate when applying.
About the Role:
Support a young woman in her 20s who is autistic and visually impaired. She is a Bournemouth University student who enjoys walking and going to the cinema. Your support will help her live independently and enjoy her personal and social life.
Main Responsibilities:
Household & Admin:
- Help with shopping, household tasks, paperwork and bills
- Meal planning, food prep and cooking
- Cleaning, laundry, steaming, fridge/dishwasher tasks
Social Support:
- Attending medical appointments
- Going for walks
- Trips to the cinema and other social activities
Personal Care (Prompting):
- Washing, showering, dental care
- Dressing appropriately
- Taking prescribed medication
What We’re Looking For:
- Honest, reliable, punctual, non‑judgemental
- Able to build trusting relationships; flexible and understanding
- Preferably local for frequent short visits
- Good communicator and listener
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Understanding of Autism and OCD
- Experience supporting autistic individuals
- Ability to support behaviours that challenge
- Evidence of self‑employment (PLI, T&Cs, tax ref)
- DBS check
- Legally able to work in the UK
Preferred:
- Care qualification
- Driving licence, car, business‑appropriate insurance
- Computer literacy
