Job Introduction
This is a wide & varied role for a Personal Care Assistant, who is cheerful, uses own initiative to primarily promote independence by supporting a gentleman daily to retain skill/hobbies, live a full and positive life.
The Gentleman has COPD, cardiomyopathy, kidney disease, osteoarthritis, mild cognitive impairment, hearing loss with aids, uses a walking stick.
The Gentleman uses a recliner pressure support chair, level access shower seat and grab rails in bathroom and by bed.
He requires support with prompting/monitoring/observation, with personal care, dressing, menus shopping, meal prep/cooking medication, laundry/domestic tasks.
Including daily organising, taking to appointments shopping social events in his automatic adapted vehicle, has outdoor wheelchair.
The gentleman has capacity and makes his decisions known.
Ideal candidates – someone cheerful, committed to promoting independence, previous experience essential. Must like dogs.
Hourly rate: Please provide rates with your application.
Day & times: 2-3 hrs a day more for appointments shopping 11 - 1/2 pm Tuesday/Thursday 5.30-6.30pm Personal care - Saturday/Sunday am 8.30-9.40 - Evenings 8.30-9-30 x 7 x1 hr.
