Senior Business Support Officer - Case Worker


About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Business Support Officer - Case Worker to join our Executive
Support team, focusing on casework for the Leader of the Council. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing and responding to complex enquiries from members of the public, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional communication on behalf of the Leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for public enquiries directed to the Leader, providing clear, empathetic, and well-informed responses.
  • Manage and prioritise casework, ensuring issues are tracked and resolved promptly.
  • Liaise with internal teams, elected members, and external stakeholders to gather information and coordinate responses.
  • Prepare concise briefings and correspondence for the Leader, maintaining confidentiality and political sensitivity at all times.
  • Champion continuous improvement in processes and systems to enhance service delivery.

About You

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with experience in handling complex or sensitive enquiries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise competing demands, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Political awareness and understanding of local government structures would be highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a senior administrative or business support role.
