Job Introduction


From 1 December 2025, our refreshed Pay and Reward package comes into effect, bringing a new approach to how we recognise and reward roles across the Council. This means the salary for this role will be changing. The pay range for this role will be £30,024 – £33,143 from 1 December 2025.

Senior Business Support Officer

About the Role

As a Senior Business Support Officer, working with School’s Inclusion Team, you’ll be at the heart of our operations – working to statutory deadlines and process, providing expert guidance, technical support, and championing new systems and ways of working. Your role will be key to ensuring our services meet the highest standards and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and support on complex technical processes and systems.
  • Handle escalated enquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Organise and document multi-agency meetings.
  • Maintain high accuracy in data input and analysis.
  • Interrogate and interpret diverse information to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to workflow redesigns and database efficiency.
  • Procure goods and services in line with financial regulations.
  • Collaborate across the Business Support team to ensure continuity.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Strong ICT skills including MS Office.
  • Proven administrative experience with partnership organisations.
  • Skilled in meeting documentation and diary management.
  • Knowledge of database management and report production.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and prioritise effectively.
  • High attention to detail and proofreading ability.
  • Constructive and open feedback contributor.
  • Embraces change and celebrates team success.

Requirements

  • Basic DBS check.
  • Ability to travel using public transport or a valid UK driving licence with access to a car.
