Job Introduction
Role Purpose
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our Income and Leasehold team within BCP Homes. You will be responsible for managing, supporting and developing a team focussed on the collection of rent and other charges within the Housing Revenue Account. You will ensure the emphasis is on prevention of arrears and avoidance of debt to help residents remain in their homes. Where required you will ensure that legal action is taken to recover and prevent arrears in accordance with policy and legislation. You will be required to take a proactive and innovative approach towards income maximisation.
This role will be office based initially and then moving to hybrid working. We will consider flexible working patterns dependent on the right candidate for this role.
Main Responsibilities
To manage and co-ordinate the work of Income Officers, Income Accounting Officers and others involved in the maximisation of rent collection and other charges and that appropriate action is taken to deal with arrears and ensure that strategic objectives are adhered to.
Review cases prior to the commencement of legal action to ensure that all policies and procedures have been followed.
Resolve complex or contentious issues where there are a range of options and information is unclear and conflicting.
Present information to resident panels, committees and groups working with them to improve services.
Analyse performance data and produce reports relating to income collection to help identify performance issues to support strategic service planning and development.
The Ideal Candidate
You will work well under pressure and be able to manage a large and complex workload. Have excellent communication skills and are able to build and maintain positive working relationships. You will have the ability to exercise good judgement, sensitivity and discretion with the ability to negotiate, influence, resolve conflict and deal with contentious issues.
You will have excellent leadership skills to support, motivate and develop the Income Team and the individuals within that team.
