Hours: Full time (37 hours) and part-time considered (with a minimum of 21 hours)

Location: Various vacancies across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole

Salary: £36,648 - £43,421

£44,428 - £47,420 for Approved Mental Health Professionals

 

We are currently recruiting to our Adults and Older Persons Community Mental Health Teams and Dorset Forensic Team.

 

Joining our team:

BCP Council has a number of Social Work teams that operate across all specialist areas, including Adults and Older People’s Mental Health, Preparing for Adulthood Services, Learning Disability Services, Autism services, Forensic, Assertive Outreach and Community Rehabilitation Teams. Given the nature of this role it is a requirement for applicants to hold the necessary professional qualification, and registration to practice as a Social Worker in the UK through Social Work England.

The successful candidate will need to have demonstrable experience, or keen interest, in working within a specialist service with knowledge of application of the Care Act.

We are committed to working within a strengths-based model and as such continue to work within the principles of Fulfilling Lives in meeting our duties within the Care Act.

There is a commitment from the team, and management, to individual wellbeing and we offer a number of opportunities to support development such as high-quality reflective supervision and peer reflection. Within some teams there are options to be supported along the Approved Mental Health Professional/Best Interest Assessor/Safeguarding Adults Practitioner pathways.

Enthusiastic and motivated professionals are sought, who can work well with others and as part of the team whilst contributing proactively to the development of the service. There are currently 6 qualified Social Work vacancies across specialist services Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.


What you can expect to be doing:

As our colleagues professionally grow, we have opportunities across our teams. We are currently looking for new colleagues to join us in our Teams supporting people living with long term conditions to live inclusively in the community, alongside supporting their carers, children and families.

You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of skilled and experienced professionals carrying out holistic, assessments of need and support, coupled with care and support planning and reviewing packages of care.

 

Flexibility:

We can offer opportunities for flexible working such as part-time or compressed hours (though you may need to work some unsocial hours, depending on your contract), and can consider the best location for you as we have hubs across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. We also support an element of home working as part of our agile hybrid model.
