About the Role
Could you help a young person take their next step into independence?
Supported Lodgings Hosts offer a safe and supportive home to young people aged 16–24 who are not yet ready to live on their own. By offering a spare room and guidance, you can help them develop the confidence and life skills they need to thrive.
What you'll be doing
- Providing a safe, supportive home environment
- Acting as a positive role model and mentor
- Supporting young people to develop life skills such as cooking, budgeting and managing a home
- Encouraging engagement in education, training or employment
- Helping build confidence, independence and resilience
- Working alongside the Supported Lodgings team and other professionals
About you
- Genuine desire to support young people
- Patient, approachable and a good listener
- Able to provide a stable and supportive environment
- Have a spare bedroom
- Willing to undertake training and assessment
- From any background – there is no typical Host
What we can offer you
- Weekly financial payments (typically £260-£500 depending on needs)
- Comprehensive training and ongoing development
- Dedicated Social Worker assigned to you
- Out of hours support from an experienced Supported Lodgings team
- Flexibility to continue working alongside hosting
- Peer support from other Hosts
