Job Introduction

Role Purpose

The Adult Social Care Team Manager in the Dorset Forensic Team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality adult social care within this specialist mental health service. This individual is responsible for the delivery of adult social care service for the adults with mental ill health who are being supported by the Dorset Forensic Team. They will offer expert advice, support, and supervision to team members, fostering professional growth and adherence to performance standards. 


Financial oversight is also a key aspect of their role, involving quality assurance, budget monitoring, and expenditure authorisation to ensure fiscal responsibility. The Team Manager contributes to the ongoing development and improvement of services, advocating for evidence-based practices and leading specific project developments. 


Collaboration is central to their work, providing expertise to colleagues, supervising students, and engaging in audits and fieldwork to uphold team standards. They maintain essential records, provide statistical data as needed, and fulfill statutory duties, including addressing complaints and managing local office responsibilities. 


Furthermore, the Team Manager is instrumental in promoting diversity, safeguarding vulnerable adults, and staying informed on legislative and procedural changes to enhance service delivery effectively. Their comprehensive role ensures that the team operates efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with the highest standards of forensic mental health care.
