The post holder will work across our two community café spaces in Branksome Centre and Bourne Community Hub and deliver outreach to communities in Turlin Moor working closely with local partner organisations. They will give a listening ear to people wanting to talk and share issues, help them tackle loneliness and isolation and bring people together.
Key tasks include:
Supporting a weekly afternoon session in the pop-up Warm Space alongside our Community Food Store at Turlin Moor, working with partner organisations and volunteers. Hot drinks and snacks are served already; we want to enhance the offer to the community with food/drink workshops, and conversations that provide support with cost of living, and build community connections by responding actively to suggestions and needs of the residents.
Planning, preparing and serving basic healthy food including soups, hot jacket potatoes, sandwiches etc for two lunchtime sessions weekly at Bourne Community Hub acting as front of house and supported by volunteers.
Delivering a hot and cold drinks and snacks offer for two sessions a week at Branksome Centre acting as front of house and supported by volunteers.

- special occasion participatory events for different ages (for example, Easter egg decorations, summer smoothie making)
- cost of living support sessions (working with partner organisations)
- activities such as table-top games and books for fun and relaxation
