Job Introduction

The Early Years service is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team based at the Civic Centre Bournemouth, to help further progress the workforce development agenda.

You will have a good understanding of the Childcare Act, Early Years, Early Help and SEND priorities and will have experience of organising and facilitating meetings and training events.  You will also have experience of working in partnership with both internal and external colleagues and partners, along with experience of monitoring budgets.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, with excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills and will have the ability to work effectively with a range of teams, external providers and agencies in order to develop the skills of the workforce.

The Early Years Workforce Development Officer role is interesting and varied.  Key responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, publish and evaluate a programme of workforce development activities for Early Years/ Early Help/ SEN practitioners working in the BCP conurbation.
  • Co-ordinate and arrange training for Early Help and SEN practitioners.
  • Promoting training opportunities and managing bookings onto courses and events.
  • Ensuring delivery logistics are in place for workforce development events – eg room bookings, IT facilities etc.
  • Sourcing and liaising with a variety of internal and external training providers and supporting the commissioning process.
  • Collecting information to evaluate the effectiveness of training and sharing this with appropriate managers.
  • Monitoring spend against allocated budgets.

If you have a minimum of 3 A levels or equivalent experience and are a creative, self motivated individual with a strong commitment to high quality customer service this may be the next great step in your career.
