HOURS: 1.0 FTE

SALARY: Main Scale (M1 – M6) or Upper Pay Scale (UP1-3) with TLR2

JOB/PERSON SUMMARY:

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a teacher with upper key stage 2 experience and expertise who would like to develop their leadership skills, to undertake the role of year leader in a four-form entry school. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, creative and enthusiastic teacher who has the skills and knowledge to effectively lead a large year team in our Federation. Our Year leaders have a pivotal role in driving the highest quality teaching within their team, complemented with a TLR alongside frequent release time and opportunities for professional development. This role would initially be in Upper Key Stage 2.

Twin Sails Infant School & Nursery and Hamworthy Park Junior School are part of the Hamworthy Primary schools Federation. Both schools are four-form entry and set in beautiful surroundings, overlooking Poole Bay. Our schools recently both received good Ofsted judgements with significant strengths highlighted in the reports. Our caring, nurturing ethos underpins everything that we do. The right candidate will:

• have a passion for teaching children and a drive for personal professional development

• have high expectations and a commitment to ensuring all children succeed

• have a desire to work in a happy, friendly school, demonstrating a positive ‘can do’ attitude

• demonstrate understanding of trauma informed and relational practice, alongside modelling and maintaining high expectations of behaviour

• demonstrate excellence in teaching, which can be disseminated to support, mentor and coach others

• have excellent subject knowledge, as well as a good understanding of pedagogical approaches to ensure high quality teaching outcomes

• have a proven track record of leading within a school, either through a curriculum subject or leading a teaching team

• work effectively to inspire and motivate others within a team

• effectively lead teams and make informed decisions to develop the vision and ethos of our school – Every Child, Every Day, Every Possibility

• work collegiately alongside the Leadership team to drive whole school development

• be the lead on day-to-day operational issues and school organisation within the year team

• effectively communicate relevant information to the year team

• enable positive partnership working with parents across the year team

• lead the year team in all aspects of teaching, including effective planning and assessment of the curriculum, standards, data analysis, and pupil progress

• lead colleagues in moderation activities and performance management

• bring energy, enthusiasm and humour to the role!
