Actual salary for approx. 32.5 hours p/w approx. £17,951 (44.3 weeks per year)
Linwood School has a vacancy for an exciting opportunity for those currently in a Teaching Assistant role or in a pastoral support role. We are looking for a Regulation and Engagement worker to support students at our Springwood Campus, part of Linwood School, Springwood is an autism specific campus and therefore a sound understanding of autism and previous experience working with autistic students is desirable.
We are currently on a journey to revolutionise the approaches and our practice around regulation and engagement (formally known as behaviour management/support.)
Trauma informed practice and fundamentally understanding that ‘behaviour is communication’ are what is underpinning our current approaches. The PACE team (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) are a new dynamic team who will be fundamental in the strategic development of the Pace Team who will use their Regulation & Engagement training, Positive Handling training and experience to provide high quality interventions to help our students maintain their regulation during the school day.
Some examples of the interventions you might use could be in class supporting and modelling plans to help students maintain their regulation, create intuitive support plans and personalised learning as well as creating and running Nurture Groups to help students become regulated to enable them to return to the learning environment.
You will also be required to make records of regulation and engagement incidents ensuring they are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to policies and procedures as required. You will help write and implement Personalised Regulation and Engagement Plans alongside class teams.
These roles will be overseen by our PACE Team leader, Andy Maher, and assistant headteacher at Springwood Campus who oversees the Pace Team across Linwood School.
