Speech and Language Therapist Vacancy

Winchelsea School is a community special school committed to meeting the needs of pupils, aged 4 to 16, with a wide range of learning difficulties. We are at an exciting stage in our development, collaborating with two local schools to set up satellite provision in mainstream settings from September 2019.   We also offer Post 16 provision through an innovative collaboration with Bournemouth and Poole College.

This expansion has led to a number of vacancies within school and we are seeking to employ two additional Speech and Language Therapists to join our team. This post is suitable for newly qualified therapists and is considered to be broadly equivalent to a Band 5. Our Senior Speech and Language Therapist will provide supervision in house. You will have a diverse caseload and will be supported to develop your direct therapy style to include both individual and whole class therapy sessions. We have a dedicated therapy space and a wide range of therapeutic resources and assessments. Working closely with the participation team and teaching staff, you will become an integral part of the Winchelsea Team.  Previous experience of working with children, specifically those with learning difficulties and autism, would be an advantage, but not essential as we will provide substantial training and development. Winchelsea School has a comprehensive induction process, provides many opportunities for professional development and the potential for progression.

Visits to the school are encouraged.

If you have not been contacted by the school by 13th September 2019, then could you please assume that your application has been unsuccessful.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. Applicants to this post will be required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service with Children’s Barring List Check.
