Joining our team:
We have opportunities available for qualified and registered social workers at all levels – particularly those returning to Social Work - who want to make a positive difference in enabling fulfilled lives for adults in need of support.
There are lots of reasons for you to join our Adult Social Services. We put the person at the centre of our work with our person-centred ‘fulfilling lives’ approach, and we are working towards a model that will enable our social workers to get alongside people to help them live their lives as independently as possible. At the core of everything you will do is excellent social work.
Our superb support culture means you can really thrive, with help, advice and support on hand when needed from managers, and great opportunities for career development, wherever you are on your social work journey.
Your wellbeing is important to us, and we will do our best to offer you a healthy work-life balance as well as support such as our Employee Assistance Programme.
You’ll find a highly rewarding career with us where you’ll have every opportunity to make a positive difference to people’s lives - you will be the difference.
What you can expect to be doing:
As our colleagues professionally grow, we have opportunities across our teams. We are currently looking for new colleagues to join us in our Teams supporting people living with long term conditions to live inclusively in the community, alongside supporting their carers, children and families.
You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of skilled and experienced professionals carrying out holistic, assessments of need and support, coupled with care and support planning and reviewing packages of care.
Flexibility
We can offer opportunities for flexible working such as part-time or compressed hours (though you may need to work some unsocial hours, depending on your contract), and can consider the best location for you as we have hubs across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. We also support an element of home working as part of our agile hybrid model.
Talent Pool
Where we have too many short listable candidates for a role, or no available vacancy at a particular level or in a particular team, we will interview candidates who meet our essential criteria. If you’re successful, you’ll go into our Talent Pool and when a role becomes available, we’ll contact you to discuss this.
Applications:
Applications will be reviewed as and when received, you do not need to wait until the closing date. To apply, please read the Job Description and then complete the application form, evidencing how you meet our listed core essential criteria.
Additional information:
We can help with the re-registration process for those returning to social work. However, we’re not currently sponsoring new work Visas, so you should only apply if you can evidence a satisfactory right to work in the UK. You must hold a valid full UK driving licence with access to your own or a pool car, or be able to travel efficiently (and sustainably where possible) to fulfil the needs of the role using public or other forms of transport.
For more information or if you have any questions, we would really like to hear from you, so please contact either Katharine.scott@bcpcouncil.gov.uk or kirsten.flanagan@ bcpcouncil.gov.uk
Interviews: date to be advised
BCP Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the community and expects all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. Applicants to this post will be required to complete the appropriate level of Disclosure & Barring Service Check. Please refer to the Person Specification for more details.
As a result of the creation of BCP Council in 2019, we are working on simplifying our terms and conditions of service and will be creating a single pay structure which is to be applicable for all employees. It is important to us that we offer benefits that our colleagues value as part of their total employment package and we are reviewing these to make sure we have it right. We are in the process of establishing a timescale for implementation and colleagues joining us will be included in these changes. Expected to be in place 2024.
